What is a zine?

A zine is a collection of artwork and writing made by different artists and writers compiled together into a booklet (either digital or printed).This zine is an unofficial fan project dedicated to Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. Official copyrights are reserved by Sailor Moon's creator, Naoko Takeuchi, and its licensed distributors.This project will be a SFW-only free digital release.

What is the theme of this project again?

This project focuses on the Sailor Scouts and what they might do when they aren't saving humanity. This could include but is not limited to shopping, sleepovers, dates, vacationing, hobbies, family life, etc.Any Sailor Scout within the Sailor Moon Universe is welcome for inclusion!

How many participants are you looking for?

Although exact numbers will depend on our application pool, we’re looking for about 20-30 artists (page, spread, spot, & comic) and 10 writers (4 poets, 6 fic writers)!

What are the specs for the zine?

Do I need zine experience to apply?

Zine experience is not required to apply!Only SFW samples will be accepted during the application process. Please be sure to choose the pieces that best reflect your style.

Do contributors retain rights to their work?

Contributors retain full rights to their work! Contributors should not post their pieces publicly until the zine is released.

What is the minimum age to participate?

The minimum age to participate is 13 years old per Discord's terms of service—our hub of operations and primary place of communication. This zine is strictly SFW only, so creators under 18 are welcome!

Will all applicants receive a decision email?

Yes—whether accepted or rejected, all applicants will receive an email from our event account, [email protected], once decisions are finalized. Please check our Twitter account for updates!

Will there be digital merch artists?

No—to avoid any issues with Sailor Moon’s copyright, we do not plan on bundling any digital merch with this zine. Please apply for a different artist position instead!

Are collaborations allowed?

Yes! Collaborations between artists and writers are allowed! Mods will approve collaboration requests during the pitch process.

Can we create AU content for this zine?

Short answer: it depends on the AU!Contributors will submit pitch ideas to the moderator team for approval in the applications and before the creation period. You are welcome to pitch a SFW AU, but please come up with a backup canon-verse idea just in case! Feel free to ask the Mods any questions before and during this process!
